How to Set Up a New iPad
Step 1: Turn on your iPad.
Step 2: Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your iPad.
Step 3: Choose a Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Step 4: Select your location.
Step 5: Set up Face ID or Touch ID.
Step 6: Choose your Apple ID and password.
Step 7: Choose your iCloud settings.

How to Set Up a New iPad
Step 1: Turn on your iPad
When you first take your new iPad out of the box, it will be powered off. To turn it on, press and hold the power button (located at the top of the device) until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.
Step 2: Choose your language and region
After your iPad turns on, you will be prompted to choose your language and region. Select the appropriate options and then tap Continue.
Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi
Next, you will need to connect your iPad to Wi-Fi. Tap the Wi-Fi button and select the network you want to connect to. If you don’t see your network listed, tap Other Networks and enter the network name and password.
Step 4: Set up your Touch ID
If your iPad has a Touch ID sensor, you will be prompted to set it up. Touch ID is a fingerprint scanner that allows you to unlock your iPad and make purchases with Apple Pay. To set up Touch ID, tap Continue and then place your finger on the Touch ID sensor. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
Step 5: Create a passcode
You will also be prompted to create a passcode to protect your iPad. A passcode is a four-digit number that you use to unlock your iPad. Tap Continue and then enter your desired passcode.
Step 6: Set up your Apple ID
If you don’t already have an Apple ID, you will need to create one to use your iPad. An Apple ID is a free account that you use to sign in to your devices, download apps from the App Store, and make purchases from the iTunes Store. Tap Continue and then follow the on-screen instructions to create your Apple ID.
Step 7: Choose your preferences
After you have created your Apple ID, you will be able to choose your preferences. You can choose your wallpaper, enable or disable notifications, and set up your Siri voice. Tap Continue to skip this step or tap Customize to make your selections.
Step 8: Get started
Once you have completed all of the setup steps, you will be ready to start using your iPad. Tap Get Started to open the Home screen.
Additional Tips
If you are setting up your iPad for a child, you can set up a Family Sharing account. Family Sharing allows you to share your Apple ID with your family members and share purchases, apps, and more.
You can also set up your iPad with a cellular plan. This allows you to use your iPad to make calls, send texts, and use data even when you are not connected to Wi-Fi.
