How to Shut Down an iPad

1. Press and hold the Power:
button until the Slide to Power Off:

Step 1: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button

The Sleep/Wake button is located at the top of your iPad, on the right side. Press and hold it until you see the slider appear.

Step 2: Slide to power off

Once you see the slider, swipe it to the right to power off your iPad.

Step 3: Wait for your iPad to turn off

Your iPad will take a few seconds to turn off. Once it’s off, the screen will go black and the Sleep/Wake button will no longer be lit up.
