1. Press the Volume Up:

How to Turn Off Ringer on iPad
Step 1: Press the Volume Up or Volume Down button.
On the side of your iPad, you will find two buttons: the Volume Up button and the Volume Down button. To turn off the ringer, press either of these buttons.
Step 2: Tap the Mute button.
After pressing either of the volume buttons, you will see a small button appear at the top of the screen. This button is called the Mute button. Tap this button to turn off the ringer.
Step 3: Confirm that the ringer is turned off.
You can confirm that the ringer is turned off by looking at the status bar at the top of the screen. If the ringer is turned off, you will see a small, white “M” next to the battery icon.

You can also turn off the ringer by going to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and tapping the Ringer switch to the off position.
If you want to turn the ringer back on, simply press either of the volume buttons or tap the Mute button again.
