How to Unlock an iPad

Step 1: Enter your passcode

If your iPad is locked, you can unlock it by entering your passcode.

1. On the lock screen, tap the Enter Passcode button.
2. Enter your passcode and tap Enter:

Your iPad will be unlocked.

Step 2: Use Face ID or Touch ID

If you have set up Face ID or Touch ID on your iPad, you can use it to unlock your iPad.

1. On the lock screen, hold your iPad up to your face or place your finger on the Touch ID sensor.
2. Your iPad will unlock.

Step 3: Use Emergency SOS

If you are unable to unlock your iPad using your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, you can use Emergency SOS to unlock it.

1. On the lock screen, press and hold the Side button and either the Volume Up or Volume Down button.
2. When the slide to power off slider appears, release the Side button and continue holding the Volume Up or Volume Down button.
3. After a few seconds, you will see the Emergency SOS screen.

Step 4: Reset your iPad
